Shanon Ervin, 44, of Bellefontaine, was arrested early Thursday morning for 2 counts of OVI.
Bellefontaine Police witnessed Ervin driving on the sidewalk on West Lake Avenue before turning right onto South Main Street.
Ervin admitted to police that he realized he pulled onto the sidewalk.
When police asked for his proof of insurance, they noticed Ervin struggling with his fine motor skills.
After failing field sobriety tests, Ervin admitted to police he consumed 4-5 beers before driving.
During a vehicle search, police found a nearly full can of beer opened in the vehicle.
Ervin was transported to Logan County Jail where he failed a breathalyzer test, blowing .211 g/210L on his first attempt.
He is charged with 2 counts of OVI, a marked lanes violation, and driving without a seat belt.
