Wednesday afternoon officers from Washington Township were on patrol on State Route 274 near Township Road 94 and stopped Byron Garcia, 34, of Guatemala, for a marked lanes violation.

Upon making contact with Garcia, signs of impairment were observed.

He admitted to officers that he had consumed alcohol before driving.

Garcia submitted to field sobriety tests and failed.  He was then placed under arrest for OVI.

He was transported to the Logan County Jail and submitted a breath test.

Garcia blew a breath test of .270, just under four times the legal limit.

He was charged with OVI, no driver’s license, and marked lanes.
