Tuesday night Bellefontaine Police Officers were called about a possible domestic dispute.

A resident heard people arguing in the area and a female yelling for help.

Officers drove around Penny Lane Apartments and heard Jonathan Golden, 24, of Bellefontaine, and the victim arguing.

The victim told officers that they were trying to contact Golden’s probation officer because he was getting violent while consuming alcohol.

Golden was arguing with the victim and knocked them on the ground, putting his hand over their mouth and nose, and his arm across their neck.

He resisted arrest and didn’t cooperate with officers.

Eventually, he was arrested and transported to the Logan County Jail.

Golden was charged with strangulation, domestic violence, unlawful restraint, menacing, resisting arrest, disrupting public service, and abduction.
