6th grader Calin Headings is the back-to-back champion of the Indian Lake Middle School Spelling Bee.

Headings recently won the competition for the second consecutive year, outlasting 20 other students who were selected from Language Arts classes.

After 15 rounds of intense competition, Headings clinched the victory by correctly spelling the word “embroiled.”

7th grader Grady Zielinski earned second place as the runner-up.

Both Headings and Zielinski will advance to the Logan County Spelling Bee in January, which will be held at the Holland Theatre.

The students competed using words from the Scripps National Spelling Bee List, showcasing their impressive spelling skills.
