American Honda is reporting strong April sales, highlighted by record-setting hybrid vehicle demand and continued dominance in the SUV market.
The company posted total April sales of 137,405 vehicles, bringing its year-to-date total to 474,236 units.
The Honda Motor Co. brand led the way with 125,571 units sold in April, marking a 1.6% increase.
A major driver of that growth was hybrid-electric vehicles, which set a new April sales record with more than 40,000 units sold.
Passenger car sales for Honda jumped 19% compared to April 2025, reaching 41,468 units—the brand’s best monthly performance in that category since mid-2021.
The surge was fueled by strong showings from the Honda Civic, Honda Accord, and the all-new Honda Prelude.
Honda’s SUV lineup also remained a key contributor, with light truck sales totaling 84,103 units.
The Honda CR-V continued to lead the industry, topping 42,000 units sold in April—its second consecutive month above that mark. Hybrid versions made up more than half of CR-V sales for the month.
Other SUVs also posted solid numbers, including the Honda Pilot and Honda HR-V, both maintaining consistent sales momentum.
Meanwhile, the Honda Passport recorded its best sales month of the year, with TrailSport trims accounting for more than 80% of the model’s sales mix.
On the luxury side, Acura reported April sales of 11,834 units.
SUVs remained the top performers, led by the Acura MDX, which posted over 4,200 units sold.
Acura’s gateway models also saw strong demand.
The Acura Integra recorded more than 2,500 units in April, up 27% year-over-year, while the Acura ADX saw significant growth, with sales jumping 147%.
