A special ceremony was held Wednesday in city council chambers for Allen Huffman as he retired from the Bellefontaine Police Department after 34 years of service.
Huffman entered law enforcement to help people and be a servant to others.
Looking back on 34 years Huffman said it was hard to narrow it down to a few favorite memories. Huffman looks back at being at the governor’s inauguration years ago when he was working in Champaign County.
For the last seven years, Huffman has been working in schools with kids. He’s also proud of the work the department has done with community outreach.
Huffman’s retirement plans are up in the air. He’s hoping to go back to working at the school and plans on doing security at Mary Rutan Hospital. He’s looking forward to whatever doors open in the future.
Thank you Officer Huffman for your 34 years of service.
