A Huntville man was arrested for operating a vehicle under the influence after an investigation late Wednesday night, according to the Bellefontaine Police Department.

Police say officers were on patrol in the area of North Madriver Street and Irving Avenue just after 11 p.m. when they noticed a woman standing on a street corner who appeared upset and was talking on the phone.

While checking on her, officers noticed a blue Honda SUV drive through the area, briefly interact with the woman, and then leave before returning again a short time later.

The vehicle later stopped near a hospital, where officers then spoke with the driver, identified as 46-year-old David Moore, and two female passengers.

During the investigation, officers reported that Moore showed signs of impairment, including slurred speech and confusion.

He also had difficulty completing field sobriety tests.

Moore was arrested for OVI and taken to the Bellefontaine Police Department.

He later blew a breath test that did not indicate any impairment, and a urine sample was collected for further testing.

A Drug Recognition Expert was also called in to assist with the investigation.

Moore was later transported to the Logan County Jail and charged with OVI.
