The City of Kenton is cleaning up after an EF-1 tornado ripped through the South side of town.
According to the National Weather Service in Wilmington, the tornado touched down for just 6 minutes around 1 PM Saturday.
The storm moved through 2.2 miles of the city and damaged approximately 50 structures.
The over 90 MPH winds uprooted trees, ripped off siding, lifted the second story off a garage, and knocked out power.
The community is rallying to help each other clean up and make repairs.
