The two Co-Directors of LoCo Art, Myles Bowers and Jennifer Davis, were the guest speakers at the Bellefontaine Rotary meeting Monday afternoon. LoCo Art provides youth with family-inclusive arts programming that is accessible to Logan County residents regardless of economic status.
Mr. Bowers and Ms. Davis discussed the many things that the LoCo Art program has done in the past such as Art on the Beach, bringing families together to create unique projects. They have also collaborated with the Farmer’s Market, Logan County Solid Waste Management District, and Homegrown Yoga just to name a few.
One of the many interesting projects was completed last year when LoCo Art teamed up with the Logan County Historical Center and guest artist Richard Duarte Brown to design and paint the Mills Brothers’ mural that is prominently located in downtown Bellefontaine.
Ms. Davis and Mr. Bowers announced that Benjamin Logan Schools will be offering Stress Less! after-school programs. This program will be split into 3 six week segments with the first segment focusing on art. The second six weeks will be music while the final six weeks will concentrate on theater.
