Thursday, Logan County deputies helped Hardin County authorities during a high-speed chase and search operation that led to the arrest of Damon Michael Kaiser, a man with multiple felony warrants.
The situation began around 4:29 pm when deputies tried to stop Kaiser, who was driving a 2006 Green Honda Ridgeline near the intersection of County Road 50 and County Road 15 in Hardin County.
Kaiser, who was known to have several outstanding felony warrants, failed to stop and fled west into Allen County.
The pursuit lasted 12 miles, with Kaiser committing multiple traffic violations and even attempting to ram pursuing officers.
Logan County deputies, working alongside Hardin County authorities, helped bring the chase to an end with a PIT maneuver on Reservoir Road in Allen County, just before entering Lima.
Kaiser resisted arrest but was eventually taken into custody.
He was treated for minor injuries at Lima Memorial Hospital and taken to the Multi-County Jail.
Kaiser now faces charges including felony drug trafficking, failure to comply, and other misdemeanor offenses.
Later that night, Logan County deputies assisted in executing a search warrant at Kaiser’s residence on Township Road 180 in Roundhead, where suspected narcotics were discovered.
Additional charges are expected.
The operation was a coordinated effort involving the Hardin County Crime Task Force, Logan County Sheriff’s Office, Allen County Sheriff’s Office, Ohio State Highway Patrol, Johnny Apple Seed Park Rangers, Bath Township Fire Department, and Route 31 Towing.
