A woman was arrested Tuesday evening after a reported domestic disturbance at an Airbnb in Washington Township.

According to the Logan County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were called to the property on Township Road 269 just after 7:00.

A caller reported that 23-year-old Chelsea Mitchell, of Cape Garidal, Missouri, was intoxicated and throwing items inside the residence.

When deputies arrived, the caller told officers he had returned to the home from work and learned from roommates that Mitchell had been drinking.

He said the two began arguing, causing the roommates to leave the apartment with their child.

Deputies reported there were no allegations of physical violence or threats between the couple.

According to the report, Mitchell repeatedly yelled and wanted to leave, but deputies believed she was too intoxicated to do so safely.

Mitchell later told deputies she had called an Uber and then went to gather her belongings before leaving.

During that time, deputies say she acted aggressively and intentionally swung her purse toward the victim’s face, hitting him slightly and causing no reported injury.

At that point, Mitchell was taken into custody and transported to the Logan County Jail.

During the investigation, deputies say Mitchell initially refused to identify herself but later provided her Social Security number while being transported to jail.

Authorities then discovered she also had an active warrant out of St. Louis, Missouri.

Mitchell was charged with persistent disorderly conduct, a fourth-degree misdemeanor, for what deputies described as violent and turbulent behavior.
