The Ohio State Highway Patrol has announced OVI checkpoints will take place Friday night in Champaign and Logan counties.
In Champaign County, the checkpoint will be on U.S. 36 near Community Drive in Urbana from 6 to 8 p.m.
In Logan County, the checkpoint will be set up on Main Street north of Lake Avenue in Bellefontaine from 9 to 11 p.m.
Troopers say the checkpoints are funded through federal grants and are meant to help prevent impaired driving crashes and keep roads safe.
Additional patrols will also be in the area looking for impaired drivers.
The patrol reminds drivers to plan ahead if they plan to drink by choosing a designated driver or arranging another ride home.
