A Sidney man was killed following a car/semi accident outside of Lakeview late Monday morning just before noon.
The Logan County Sheriff’s Office reports Ronald Laughlin, 91, of Sidney, was traveling eastbound on County Road 52 and was stopped at the stop sign for the County Road 54 intersection.
Laughlin failed to yield and drove into the path of a semi, operated by Kirt Emerick, 50, of Lima.
Both vehicles went off the right side of the roadway.
Laughlin came to rest in a ditch.
Emerick continued through the ditch, struck a road sign, traveled back across 54, and came to rest in a ditch on the other side of 54.
Laughlin was transported to Mary Rutan Hospital by Indian Lake EMS and was later pronounced dead.
Emerick was not injured.
Both vehicles suffered heavy damage.
