After nearly three decades of waking up listeners on 98.3 WPKO, longtime Morning Show host Chad Wilkinson recently announced he will be stepping away to focus on an expanded role within V-Teck Communications.

Wilkinson will become the Station Manager overseeing all the operations and sales of V-Teck Communications four radio stations and website PeakofOhio.com.

“I’m going to miss all of the great people that listen in the morning.  As V-Teck has grown over the last several years, so have my responsibilities.  Now I’m taking on another major role and balancing all of this while doing mornings was going to be too much,” said Wilkinson.  “Plus, after 27 years, I think it’s time for someone new to bring in their fresh perspective and I can’t think of a better person than Ken Keller.”

Wilkinson took over the Morning Show in March of 1997.  He has been the Operations Manager since January of 1999 and now adds the sales department to his responsibilities.

You will still be able to listen to Chad across all the radio stations as he will continue to do shifts on 98.3 WPKO and 107.3 The Drive and will fill in as needed on 106.9 The Bull.

He will also continue sports play-by-play across the stations as he has been doing for the last 29 years.

The new Morning Show host will be Ken Keller.  Ken recently returned to V-Teck in December of 2023, after spending the last 13 years on the radio in Okeechobee, Florida.

“I am honored and humbled to be chosen as the next host of the WPKO Morning Show. I have known and worked with Chad for many years and I have a tremendous amount of respect for what he did entertaining and informing the community. I am very excited to continue to build on what he cultivated for so many years,” said Keller.

Ken started his career on 98.3 WPKO in 1999 as the host of the popular request show Nite Mix.  He held that spot for 11 years until he and his family left for Florida in 2010.

He and his wife, Elaine, and their two sons (Evan and Karter) were excited to “come home” to Bellefontaine five months ago.

Keller will also be promoted to Assistant Program Director in his new role and will be taking over hosting duties of the weekly sports show Chalk Talk in August.

Wilkinson’s last day on the Morning Show will take place on Friday May 3, and Keller will begin Monday May 6.
