Calvary Spartans Varsity had a double match, first playing Mars Hill Academy tight but falling in 4 sets: 22-25, 25-23, 23-25 & 15-25.Ruby Slemmons had 10 assists, 13 digs, 2 aces, and 5 block touches.Nora Thornton had 11 assists and 5 block touchesMadelyn Trittschuh had 14 digs, 10 kills, 6 aces, a solo and assist block, and 6 block touchesAva Cole had 8 kills and 4 block touchesStacia Rogan had 13 digs, 1 kill, and 1 aceKari Gantz had 15 digs, 4 kills, and 1 aceIn the second match Spartans played against Christian Academy, they won in 3 sets although the last set was a nail-biter: 25-21, 25-12 & 30-28.The top attackers were Ava Cole with 10 kills, Madelyn Trittschuh with 8, and Kari Gantz with 6. Ruby Slemmons had the most aces with 4.Madelyn Trittischuh and Stacia Rogan had the best serve reception as well as the most digs (Madelyn 20, Stacia 17).Ruby Slemmons and Nora Thornton each had 12 assists.Spartans Varsity’s next match is Tuesday versus Temple Christian.Stacia Rogan and Kari Gantz each got their 100th dig on Saturday.
