Shawnee 11, Benjamin Logan 2

Benjamin Logan ran into CBC Mad River leader Shawnee and fell 11-2 at home.

The Braves struck first in the second inning, using a pair of singles to set up an RBI groundout and RBI double for a 2-0 lead. They added two more in the third, capitalizing on a Raider error at third base and a wild pitch to extend the advantage to 4-0.

The Raiders answered in the bottom of the third. With two outs and the bases loaded, Rylan Norviel ripped a single to right, driving in two runs to cut the deficit in half.

Shawnee quickly responded, plating three runs in the fourth on back-to-back singles and a sacrifice fly. The Braves then pulled away with four more runs in the sixth, highlighted by consecutive doubles, two singles, and additional RBI production to make it 11-2.

Norviel led Benjamin Logan with two RBIs, while four different Raiders recorded hits. Benjamin Logan falls to 6-7 and will host Tecumseh on Friday.

North Union 11, Graham 1 (6 innings)

In a game resumed after a weather suspension, Graham fell to North Union 11-1 in six innings.

The Wildcats built their lead early, scoring five runs in the second inning behind four singles, two walks, and a sacrifice fly before the game was halted in the third due to weather.

When play resumed, Graham struggled to chip away but broke through in the fifth. Lilly Swank and Mariah Sizemore each singled, and Malynn Bacher delivered an RBI double to score the Falcons’ lone run.

Graham threatened again in the sixth, loading the bases with no outs and bringing the tying run to the plate, but couldn’t capitalize. North Union answered with six runs in the bottom half, aided by a string of hits and an error, to trigger the run rule.

Bacher led the Falcons, going 3-for-3 with the team’s only RBI, while Sizemore added two hits. Graham falls to 4-11 and travels to Urbana on Friday.

Jonathan Alder 15, Bellefontaine 5 (5 innings)

Bellefontaine dropped a run-rule decision to Jonathan Alder, 15-5.

The Chieftains got on the board in the second inning on a fielder’s choice by Alayna Boyd, scoring Chloe Heminger. However, Jonathan Alder answered with a big inning, taking advantage of multiple defensive miscues to build a 6-1 lead.

Bellefontaine showed life in the third when Addison Wical singled and later scored, but the Pioneers continued to pile on. A six-run fourth inning, fueled by consistent hitting and aggressive baserunning, pushed the lead to 13-3.

Joy Fogan provided a highlight for the Chieftains in the fifth, blasting a two-run home run — her seventh of the season — to set a new single-season school record and pull Bellefontaine within the run-rule margin.

Jonathan Alder responded with two runs in the bottom half to seal the 15-5 win.

Fogan’s record-setting homer led the offense, while Wical and Heminger each recorded two hits. Bellefontaine falls to 3-11 and will look to snap a six-game losing streak against Shawnee on Friday.

Cedarville 12, Mechanicsburg 1 (5 innings)

Mechanicsburg’s three-game winning streak came to an end with a 12-1 run-rule loss to Cedarville.

Cedarville wasted no time, scoring in the first inning and adding three more in the second with a combination of doubles and a defensive error to take a 4-0 lead.

Mechanicsburg got on the board in the second after loading the bases with walks and an error. Dakota Nance drove in the lone run with a groundout.

Cedarville broke the game open in the third with five runs, including back-to-back solo home runs and a series of run-scoring hits. They added three more in the fifth to enforce the run rule.

Aubrie Retterer recorded the Lady Indians’ only hit. Mechanicsburg falls to 3-11 and will host Triad on Monday.

Bethel 16, Riverside 5 (5 innings)

Riverside’s early momentum wasn’t enough as Bethel pulled away for a 16-5 run-rule win.

Bethel scored once in each of the first two innings before Riverside surged ahead in the third. Emilee Robinson, Chloe Purtee, and Zoey Ransbottom opened the inning with three straight doubles, and Molly Carman followed with a two-run home run to give the Pirates a 4-2 lead.

The advantage was short-lived. Bethel responded with a seven-run third inning, taking advantage of walks, errors, and wild pitches despite limited hits.

Robinson added a solo home run in the fourth, but Bethel answered again with another seven-run inning — this time without recording a hit — capitalizing on six walks, five passed balls, a wild pitch, and defensive miscues.

Emma Pope led Riverside with three hits, while Robinson had two hits and two runs scored, and Carman drove in two with her homer.

Riverside falls to 8-11 and will look to snap a four-game losing streak against Northridge on Tuesday.
