Mechanicsburg 7, West Liberty-Salem 1
Mechanicsburg continued its late-season surge, completing the season sweep of West Liberty-Salem with a 7-1 win — its third straight victory after an 0-10 start.
Aubrie Retterer delivered a strong complete-game performance in the circle, allowing just one run on four hits and three walks while striking out three.
The Lady Indians struck first in the opening inning. Avery McDowell led off with a triple and later scored after Bella Batkiewicz reached and Retterer drew a walk to load the bases.
West Liberty-Salem threatened early but left the bases loaded in the first. Mechanicsburg added another run in the third on a Lexi Poland RBI single before the Tigers answered with a run in the bottom half on an RBI single from Emily King, scoring Olivia Reichardt.
From there, Mechanicsburg took control. A three-run fourth inning was fueled by McDowell’s second triple of the game, followed by RBI hits from Chuckie Dale and Kaelyn McGhee. McDowell struck again in the fifth with her third triple, later scoring on a Batkiewicz single.
McDowell finished with three triples and a team-high two RBIs. Reichardt led West Liberty-Salem with two hits.
Mechanicsburg improves to 3-10, while West Liberty-Salem falls to 4-12.
Urbana 13, Piqua 10
Urbana outslugged Piqua in a back-and-forth battle, scoring three runs in the seventh inning to secure a 13-10 win.
The Lady Hillclimbers came out firing, scoring five runs in the first inning behind a string of hits, including a two-run homer from Morgan Boyd.
Piqua answered with eight runs across the first two innings to take control, but Urbana stayed within striking distance. After trading runs in the third, the Hillclimbers regained the lead with a four-run fourth inning, highlighted by RBI contributions from Boyd, Maley Pine, and Lillian Webb.
Piqua tied the game in the sixth, but Urbana had the final answer. Isla Wooten led off the seventh with a go-ahead solo home run, and Addie Fox and Bailee Packer followed with back-to-back two-out homers to seal it.
Packer and Boyd each finished with three hits and three RBIs as Urbana improved to 9-5.
Anna 5, Indian Lake 4
Indian Lake nearly rallied late but came up just short in a 5-4 loss to Anna.
The Rockets built an early lead, scoring twice in the first and adding two more in the fifth. Indian Lake struggled offensively early, managing just two walks through the first four innings.
The Lakers broke through in the sixth with a three-run inning. Annie Rapp delivered an RBI single and later scored, while Izzi Mackesy and Brylee Buyer each added RBIs to cut the deficit to 5-3.
In the seventh, Rapp struck again with an RBI double to bring the Lakers within one, but the comeback ended there.
Rapp led the way with two hits and two RBIs, while Buyer also had two hits. Indian Lake falls to 4-12.
Milton-Union 23, Riverside 20
Riverside found itself in one of the wildest games of the season, falling 23-20 to Milton-Union despite a massive 16-run inning.
After both teams traded runs early, Milton-Union surged ahead with 14 runs across the second and third innings to take a commanding lead.
Then came Riverside’s explosive fourth inning — 16 runs on 13 hits, with nearly every hitter contributing as the lineup cycled multiple times. Eight of the nine hitters recorded at least one RBI in the frame.
The game tightened late, but Milton-Union pulled away with four runs in the sixth. Riverside was unable to respond in its final at-bat.
Zoey Ransbottom and Ellie Zwiebel led the Pirates with three hits and four RBIs each. Every Riverside hitter recorded at least one hit.
Riverside falls to 8-10.
West Jefferson 10, Triad 0 (5 innings)
Triad was held hitless in a 10-0 run-rule loss to West Jefferson.
The Lady Roughriders combined for a no-hitter, allowing just two walks while striking out eight.
West Jefferson scored in bunches, putting up two runs in the first, five in the third, and three in the fourth while taking advantage of a mix of hits, walks, and defensive miscues.
Triad falls to 3-13 and will look to bounce back in its next outing.
