A vehicle crashed into the front entrance of the Cobblestone Inn & Suites in Russells Point early Monday morning, causing damage to the building but leaving no reported injuries.

According to the Russells Point Police Department, officers and deputies from the Logan County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to the hotel, located at 211 Lincoln Boulevard, at approximately 3:45 a.m. after receiving reports that a vehicle had struck the building.

When emergency crews arrived, medical personnel were treating the driver, who was later transported to Mary Rutan Hospital for evaluation.

The preliminary investigation revealed that the driver indicated a possible medical emergency.

Witnesses also reported seeing the individual seeking assistance at multiple locations around the Indian Lake area before the crash happened.

According to hotel staff, the driver had visited the hotel Sunday night seeking a room.

Employees say he was asked to provide identification and a credit card, but refused and left the property.

A short time later, the man allegedly returned and drove his vehicle into the hotel’s front entrance.

Witnesses told investigators the vehicle struck the front doors more than once.

Despite the damage, hotel officials say the Cobblestone Inn & Suites remains open and continues normal operations.

No hotel guests, employees, or first responders reported injuries as a result of the incident.

Investigators are working to determine whether medical, drug-related, or other factors contributed to the crash.

The Russells Point Police Department is continuing to investigate, with assistance from the Logan County Sheriff’s Office, Indian Joint Fire District, and Indian Lake EMS.
