Bellefontaine City Schools Superintendent Hosts Quarterly Chat

The latest quarterly “Chat with the Superintendent” took place in the Distance Learning Center at Bellefontaine High School, providing a platform for community members to engage with Superintendent Brad Hall.

During the meeting, Hall highlighted several permanent improvement projects completed over the summer, including:

– Sidewalk repairs at Bellefontaine Intermediate School (BIS)
– New office flooring in the Bellefontaine High School (BHS) weight room
– Modifications to the BHS auditorium for additional handicapped seating
– Repainting of BHS room 205
– Plaster and painting repairs at BIS classrooms and hallways
– Paving work at BHS Sycamore Island and other campus areas
– Asphalt work on the hill driveway at Bellefontaine Elementary School (BES)
– Various repairs and upgrades to BHS facilities and AcuSport Stadium, including goalpost restoration, new LED systems, and improved connectivity

Attendees asked questions about the school budget, tax abatements, and the district’s relationship with the Bellefontaine Police Department. Hall provided a copy of the district’s five-year forecast, detailing a positive fiscal outcome for the 2024 fiscal year, which ended on June 30th with a surplus of $38,549. The district also reduced spending by approximately $1 million over the past year.
