Sunday afternoon, Tobin McDaniel, 44, of Marion, stopped at a green light at the intersection of South Madriver Street and East Columbus Avenue.
He then made several other traffic violations, including turning right at a red light when there was a posted No Turn on Red sign.
Bellefontaine Police stopped him and noted several signs of impairment.
Failing field sobriety tests, McDaniel was arrested and placed in an officer’s cruiser.
During a probable cause search of his vehicle, a Reuger handgun, magazine, and ammunition were found inside.
He was transported to the Bellefontaine Police Department where he refused a breath test.
McDaniel was then lodged in the Logan County Jail for one count of OVI, driving in marked lanes, stopped or slowed speed, obeying traffic devices, and improperly handling firearms.
He has one prior conviction of OVI.
Friday evening Bellefontaine Police saw a vehicle going the wrong way on West Buckingham Avenue.
Initiating a traffic stop, officers noticed several signs of impairment from the driver, Hailee Gullett, 28, of DeGraff.
She was asked to step out of the vehicle and went on to fail several field sobriety tests.
Gullett was placed under arrest and transported to the Bellefontaine Police Department where she blew a BAC of .145, almost two times the legal limit.
She was cited for 2 counts of OVI and for going the wrong way on a one-way.
Gullett was released to a sober driver.
