Columbus Man Lodged for OVI

Tuesday, Bellefontaine Police clocked Timothy Sawyer, 64, of Columbus, going 36 MPH in a school zone.

Officers stopped Sawyer and noticed he showed several signs of intoxication.

He then failed many field sobriety tests.

During a vehicle search, officers found empty bottles and cans of alcohol in Sawyer’s car.

He was arrested and transported to the Bellefontaine Police Department where he consented to a breath test.

Sawyer blew a BAC of .342, four times the legal limit.

He was then transported to the Logan County Jail where he was charged with two counts of OVI, operation under OVI suspension and owner required to file for registration.
