A driver was injured Monday morning after falling asleep behind the wheel and crashing into a utility pole west of Quincy.
According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, the crash happened around 7:30 a.m. on County Road 35.
Troopers say the driver told investigators he fell asleep while driving, causing the vehicle to leave the roadway and strike a telephone pole.
The driver suffered a possible broken leg and was transported to Mary Rutan Hospital for treatment.
The driver was cited for failure to control and driving without a valid operator’s license.
Logan County Electric Cooperative responded to the scene to replace the damaged utility pole.
The crash remains under investigation, and additional details are expected to be released as the investigation continues.
