Bellefontaine Police were on patrol early Sunday morning when they noticed a car going faster than the posted speed.
They clocked the driver, later identified as Aaron Wheeler, 32, of Findlay, going 59 MPH in the 35 MPH zone.
During a traffic stop, an officer spoke with Wheeler and noticed a bong on the passenger side floorboard.
He admitted that he had smoked marijuana within the last 30 minutes.
Wheeler showed several signs of impairment and was asked to step out of the vehicle.
Consenting to field sobriety tests, Wheeler was transported to the city annex where he failed them.
He was issued citations for speed, OVI, and possession of drugs and was informed of a mandatory court date.
Wheeler was released to a sober driver.
