Bellefontaine Police responded to a call about a hit-and-run incident on Plumvalley St in Bellefontaine Saturday afternoon.
The caller, Tamara Clifton of Bellefontaine, said she was nearly hit by a gold SUV driving south on Plumvalley. She said the driver then hit a parked vehicle on Plumvalley, just south of the intersection of Plumvalley and West Chillicothe. The SUV continued driving south before stopping near Clark Avenue, where the driver of the vehicle got out and fled the scene. The owner of the suspect vehicle, Krista Reprogle of Bellefontaine, was contacted and told police her boyfriend was driving the vehicle at the time. Police were unable to contact the suspect driver.
The vehicle was put in an impound lot and is being held until police make contact with the suspect.
The incident remains under investigation.
