Friday, The Washington Township Police Department, in conjunction with Indian Lake Schools, graduated their very first D.A.R.E class.

In total, 96 Indian Lake 4th Grade Students completed the ten-week D.A.R.E. course.

During the course, students learned about decision-making for safe and healthy living for themselves and others around them.

After the course, students pledged themselves and each other that they would utilize the skills learned in D.A.R.E. to make healthy decisions in the future.

“We look forward to continuing to teach the D.A.R.E. course to all future Indian Lake 4th Grade Students and continuing to grow our D.A.R.E. program! We can’t thank Indian Lake Schools enough for supporting this valuable course and ensuring a bright future for all of our Lakers!” said Washington Township Police Chief Michael Thompson.

D.A.R.E. was made possible by the United Way Youth Allocation Grant and the Washington Township Police Officer’s Association.
