Lakeview Hosting Mickey’s Magical Christmas

The Village of Lakeview is getting into the Christmas Spirit by hosting Mickey’s Magical Christmas. The annual Christmas in the Village celebration begins Thursday, December 5th. The events are being held along with the Downtown Lakeview Business Association and the Village of Lakeview, along with the support of countless volunteers and businesses.

President of the Downtown Lakeview Business Group Brenda Moots-Holder discusses the coming events: 

The events kick off Thursday with the Christmas Light Parade at 6:00 p.m. The parade will conclude with the annual Tree Lighting at approximately 6:45 p.m., and children can enjoy visits with Santa from 6:45 – 8:00 p.m. Several food trucks will be on hand, including Fork in the Road Food Truck, Mom Andrasik’s Hungarian Cabbage Rolls, Where There’s Smoke, and CJs B’tchin Kitchin.

On Saturday, December 7th, the Amvets Post 39 on W. Harrison St. will host breakfast with Santa from 8:00 to 9:30 a.m. In addition, there will be a petting zoo, a village scavenger hunt, pictures with Santa at the North Pole, and a gift giveaway at the village firehouse beginning at noon. Forms for the scavenger hunt can be picked up on the day of the event at any participating Lakeview business.

Additional visits with Santa at the North Pole will be held on December 12th and 19th from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m.

There will also be a Santa’s Workshop at the Young at Heart Senior Center on Thursday and Friday (December 5th and 6th) from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. and Saturday (December 7th) from 8:00 a.m. to noon).
