Lima man arrested for OVI over the holiday

July 4th at 1:00 am, the Washington Township Police Department was flagged down about a disabled vehicle while out on patrol. The stop took place on Main Street near Lincoln Boulevard in Russells Point.

The driver, Antonio Garcia, 51, of Lima, showed signs of impairment and admitted to consuming alcohol earlier in the day. He agreed to perform field sobriety tests and failed.

An open container of alcohol was located in Garcia’s vehicle.

Garcia was transported to the Logan County Jail and submitted to a breath test. His results yielded a BAC of 0.187, more than two times the legal limit. He was charged with OVI and open container, then released to a sober driver.
