It’s an emotional time for the Adams family as they round out fair week.
Lila had hoped to see better results with pigs Belle and Thomas in the Swine and Jackpot Shows. Emily, however, was surprised and proud to place first in her class with her Pygmy goat, Watson, in Thursday’s Non-Market Goat Show.
The work isn’t over yet, though, as the girls get to go on to the State Fair with their sewing projects. They each placed first in their classes at the 4-H Style Revue, earning Sew Well Done and Skillathon awards.
Emily won Clothing for Middle School, and Lila took home Terrific Tops and Overall Beginner.
Kaitlyn won Shopping Savvy, in addition to Best Overall Total Look, with a dress that took nearly 24 hours to complete. She reflects on the project and her time working with her advisor, Kim Comer:
